The Industrial 600V Quadruplex Aluminum URD Cable is a low-voltage underground direct burial wire built for reliable power distribution. It combines three 4/0 AWG aluminum phase conductors (19 strands each) with a 2/0 AWG aluminum neutral, all insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and supplied without an outer sheath for direct burial installation.

Conductor Construction

The aluminum conductors used in this cable are either concentric strand or compressed 1350-H19 series aluminum. Compressed conductors reduce overall bulk while offering greater strength and toughness, whereas stranded conductors deliver high flexibility and lower electrical resistance. Lower resistance reduces power loss, and the stranded design is easier to handle in installations where flexibility is essential. The 600 V URD cable carries three aluminum phase conductors.

XLPE Insulation System

A versatile insulation system made of cross-linked black polyethylene secures the cable conductors. This insulation is watertight, repels corrosive substances, and resists oil, heat, and flame. Cross-linking the polyethylene achieves excellent mechanical strength, making the material well suited to harsh conditions such as direct burial installation.
