1. Product Application.

The main function of XLPE Insulated Power Cable is to transport electricity, which is suitable for use in power distribution networks or fixed installations for industrial equipments operating at rated voltage up to and including 0.6/1, 1.8/3, 3.6/6, 6/10, 8.7/10, 8.7/15, 12/20, 21/35, 26/35kV with alternating current(AC) 50Hz.This product is usually used under a normal used condition, which does not apply to some special conditions, such as overhead, underwater, ship, submarine, nuclear power station, etc.
XLPE insulated flame-retardant power cable, with good performance on preventing fire burning on the circuit, can avoid fire accidents and losses. It is suitable for used in the places where the cable needed to be fixed and installed at high density level, like subway, tunnels and high-rise buildings etc.
XLPE polyethylene insulated low-smoke zero-halogen flame-retardant power cables, a kind of environmental product, has good performance on flame-retardant, corrosion resistance and low-smoke, which is suitable to be laid and fixed in crowded places, such as subway, shopping mall or school etc.

2. Technique Features & Standard.

XLPE polyethylene insulated power cables, this product is manufactured by parasitical cross-linking procedure, the straight-chain polyethylene will be changed as network structure by use this method, which transformed thermoplastic material into thermosetting material. The working temperature is up to 90ºC, which can raise the cable current capacity highly. XLPE polyethylene insulated power cables, the product has good performance on electrical characteristic, heat resistance, chemical resistance, environmental stress cracking resistance and aging resistance, all which make the cable has a long useful life.

3. Operating Characteristics.

3.1 U0/U(Um) Rated Voltage of Cable

3.2 The rated Temperature of Conductor
a) The long-time operating temperature of conductor should not be higher than 90ºC
b) If the core is in short circuit, short circuit temperature of conductor should not exceed 160ºCnot more than 5sec.
3.3 Ambient Temperature
When installation, the ambient temperature should not be lower than 0ºC, otherwise the cable need be preheated.
3.4 Bending Radius
Bending radius of single core cable is 20(d+D) ±5%
Bending radius of multi-core cable is 15(d+D) ±5%

5. Construction.

Conductor shaped:RE=circular solid,CC=compacted circular stranded,SM=sector shaped stranded
Conductors: Plain circular, compacted or shaped stranded copper or aluminium conductor
Insulation: XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) rated at 90°C
Colour identification
1 Core : Red or Black
2 Cores : Red, Black
3 Cores: Red, Yellow, Blue
4 Cores: Red, Yellow, Blue, Black
5 Cores: Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, Green
Above 5 Cores: Black Cores with White numerals
The above identifying can be changed as order
Assembly /Inner Sheath :Two, Three or Four insulated conductors are laid-up together with non-hygroscopic fillers and the assembly is bedded with an extruded layer of PVC. In case of non-armoured cables, this layer may be omitted
Armour:Aluminum/Galvanized Steel Wires, single core cables shall be Aluminium wire armour, Aluminum/Steel Tapes applied helically over the bedding of multi-core cables as per IEC 60502.
Outer Sheath:Outer sheath shall be of Extruded PVC Type ST2 as per IEC 60502-1 or Type 9 as BS 6346/5467.Special type of PVC sheathing material such as Fire Retardant PVC, Anti-Termite PVC, Anti-Rodent PVC, Sunlight resistant PVC, Oil Resistant PVC are available on special request. Also, special sheathing materials such as LLDPE, MDPE, HDPE, LSZH, and CPE are available on request.
