Argentine Standard Iram 2178-1 Low Voltage Copper Conductor PVC Protected Underground Industrial Buildings Electric Power Cable Application Cables designed for low-voltage power distribution in buildings and industrial facilities, in underground lines or on cable trays.Especially suitable for installations in industries where extensive maneuverability and fire protection are required. Description Conductors complying with the requirements of IRAM Standard NM-280: Metal: Annealed electrolytic copper or electrical-grade aluminum. Shape: Round (flexible "Class 5" or compact "Class 2") and sector-shaped ("Class 2"), depending on the cable's configuration. Insulation: Special ecological PVC, with high electrical and mechanical performance. Filling: Made of non-hygroscopic extruded or taped material, placed over the connected and wired phases. Sheath: Eco-friendly PVC type ST2, IRAM 2178-1Protections and shielding (if any): Mechanical protection: For multi-core cables, a metal armor made of galvanized steel strips or wires is used (for small cross-sections or when the armor must withstand longitudinal stresses); for single-core cables, aluminum strips are used. Electromagnetic protection: The material used is annealed copper. In these cases, two helical tapes, a corrugated longitudinal tape or wires, and an anti-unwinding tape are used. If required, a shield specially designed for cables that feed frequency inverters can be considered.
